FAQ

Design

  • How does the design process start?

The design process begins with an email  where we send you our design brief form which you can add your ideas, themes, and the message you want to convey through the wall graphics. We'll also consider the space, wall dimensions, and any specific school branding or colour schemes.

A site visit may also be conducted to understand the environment better. Post brief, our design team will start working on creating initial design concepts based on the gathered information, which will then be shared with you for feedback and revisions, ensuring the designs align with your vision and educational objectives.

  • How many design revisions are allowed?

We believe in ensuring that our designs meet your satisfaction and align with your school's vision. Therefore, we offer unlimited revisions during the design process.

Our goal is to work collaboratively with you until the design reflects your ideas and educational objectives perfectly.

  • What if we have our own design, can you work with that?

If you have your own design, we are happy to work with it. Our design team can take your existing design and adapt it to fit the dimensions and conditions of your space, ensuring it looks perfect once installed.

We can also suggest enhancements or provide revisions based on your feedback to ensure the final product meets your expectations and adheres to our quality standards.

Your involvement in the design process is encouraged to ensure the final wall graphics resonate well with your school's ethos and educational objectives.

  • How long does the design process take?

The design process typically takes 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the project.

This timeframe allows for a thorough consultation, design creation, and revision phases, ensuring that the final design is well-aligned with your school's vision and expectations.

Throughout the process, we prioritize open communication and timely feedback to keep the project on schedule and meet the desired outcomes.

  • Do you provide digital proofs before printing?

Yes, we provide digital proofs before proceeding to the printing stage. We must ensure that you are delighted with the design.

A final sign-off from you at the end of the design process will be required to move forward to the printing and installation phases, ensuring that everything is in line with your expectations and there are no last-minute changes or surprises.

  • How do you handle feedback and changes during the design process?

We value your feedback and see it as a crucial part of achieving a design that fully meets your expectations. Once we share the initial designs with you, we encourage you to provide any feedback or requested changes.

Our design team will then incorporate your feedback and present revised designs. This iterative process continues until you are delighted with the final design. We aim for open communication and a collaborative approach throughout this process to ensure the end product aligns with your school's vision and educational goals.

Material

  • What materials are used for the wall graphics?

The materials we use for wall graphics are chosen based on the specifics of the wall surface and the project requirements.

Generally, the most commonly used material is a 5-7 year high tac vinyl for standard smooth walls. However, depending on the wall surface, we have many other vinyl materials suitable for any surface type.

Our selection aims to ensure durability, vibrant colour representation, and ease of installation. Catering to the unique needs of each project.

Wall Prep

  • What type of wall surface is suitable for graphics installation?

Smooth painted walls are ideal for our standard vinyl graphics installation, which is the most cost-effective option.

However, we have a variety of vinyl materials suited for different types of wall surfaces, ensuring a versatile solution for graphics installation regardless of the wall condition.

Our goal is to provide high-quality wall graphics installation tailored to the specific needs of each project.

  • Do walls need to be painted?

No, the walls do not need to be painted before installation unless we are applying a band section of vinyl, in which case, giving it a lick of paint may be a good idea.

However, it's important to note that any painting should be done TWO WEEKS before the scheduled installation to ensure the paint has properly cured and the surface is ready for vinyl application.

  • What if the walls have imperfections or damages?

If the walls have imperfections or damage, they should be filled and sanded before the installation to ensure a smooth surface.

This preparation will help achieve a better adhesive bond and a more polished finished look for the wall graphics.

The wall surface must be in good condition to ensure the longevity and appearance of the graphics.

  • Should old paint or wallpaper be removed before installation?

Yes, any flaky old paint should be removed, and wallpaper should be removed before installation to guarantee the vinyl adheres appropriately to the wall surface.

This preparation is crucial for ensuring a smooth finish and the durability of the wall graphics.

  • How long should freshly painted walls be left to dry before installation?

Freshly painted walls should be left to dry for two weeks before the installation of wall graphics.

This drying period ensures that the paint has fully cured, providing a better surface for the vinyl to adhere to and preventing any potential issues with the installation or the longevity of the wall graphics.

  • Is there any other prep we need to do to the walls?

Yes, for full wall graphics and especially on color-painted walls, we advise sealing the walls with Zinsser Guardz.

This preparation step will help create a uniform surface that ensures better vinyl adhesion, providing a smoother finish and enhancing the durability of the wall graphics.

Installation

  • How long does the installation process take?

The installation process duration can vary, but generally, we can fit between 70 to 100 square metres a day, depending on the complexity of the walls.

This estimation allows for a rough timeline to be established for your project, ensuring a timely and efficient installation while maintaining the quality of the finished product.

  • Will the installation cause any disruption to the school schedule?

We advise scheduling the installation during school breaks or in rooms that can be shut off from the day-to-day school traffic to minimize disruptions.

Our team is flexible and can work around your school's schedule to ensure a smooth installation process while prioritizing the safety and convenience of the school community.

  • What safety measures are taken during installation?

All our staff have undergone internal training in working safely during the installation process to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

This training equips our team with the necessary knowledge and skills to adhere to safety protocols, manage risks, and respond effectively to any safety concerns during the installation, making the process secure and well-organized.

  • Do you provide all the necessary installation materials and equipment?

Yes, we provide all the installation materials and equipment required for the project.

This ensures a seamless and professional installation process, relieving you of the need to source any additional materials or equipment and ensuring the installation is completed to the highest standards.

  • What is the process for scheduling an installation?

The process for scheduling an installation involves a few steps. Initially, a discussion to understand your preferences and to choose a suitable date and time for the installation is conducted.

Once the date is agreed upon, a confirmation will be sent to you. Closer to the installation date, we will get in touch to reconfirm the schedule and ensure that all preparations are in place for a smooth installation process.

We aim for a collaborative approach to scheduling to ensure minimal disruption to your school's routine and to accommodate any specific needs you may have.

  • Is there any maintenance required post-installation?

Yes, it's a good idea to check the graphics for any damage over the school terms.

Regular inspections will help identify any wear or tear early on and address it promptly to maintain the aesthetics and durability of the wall graphics.

Your vigilance in monitoring the condition of the graphics contributes to prolonging their lifespan and ensuring they continue to provide an engaging and inspiring environment for students and staff.

  • Can the wall graphics be removed or replaced in the future?

Yes, the wall graphics can be removed or replaced in the future. However, on most occasions, removing the graphics may remove some of the paint underneath.

On the other hand, we can install new graphics over the top of existing ones, providing a fresh look without needing removal.

This flexibility allows for updating the graphics to keep the environment engaging and relevant to the evolving educational goals.

  • What if there are issues or damages during installation?

If there are issues or damages after installation, we can address these by reprinting and replacing the affected sections to ensure the wall graphics remain in optimal condition.

We aim to provide a durable and high-quality product, and we offer solutions to repair any damages, ensuring your school's environment continues to be engaging and visually appealing.

  • During Installation

During installation, because of the vinyl we use you may find that on the adjoining wall it can take some of the paint off, which we can not be held responsible for but if you have paint and a brush available, then we will be happy to repaint it for you on the day of installation.
